Closure Procedure
Winter Weather / School Closure
In the case of bad weather we will endeavour to keep school open wherever possible.
Closures before school starts
If the decision is taken to close school before the start of the school day, we will
put a message on the website and will also try to change the answerphone message.

We will also try to get it announced on BBC Radio Cumbria (95.2 or 95.6 FM).
Closures during the school day
We will only close during the school day in exceptional circumstances,
in which case we will put this on our website and endeavour to contact parents by telephone.
Therefore, could parents please ensure they inform us of any changes in mobile and / or home telephone numbers.
Where parents travel to school by car we are happy to allow you to use your discretion as to the safety of travel
– especially taking note of police travel advice –
and either, not attempt journeys to school, or collect children from school early.
