EYFS - Nursery

When can my child start Nursery?

Your child is eligible to start Nursery the term after their 3rd birthday.

If your child's 3rd birthday falls between:

1 January and 31 March                         - they can start in the Summer Term

1 April and 31 August                             - they can start in the Autumn term

1 September and 31 December               - they can start in the Spring Term

Will my child be guaranteed a place at Stainton CE Primary School if they attend Nursery?

A place at Stainton School Nursery does not guarantee a place in our Reception class. Normal school admissions procedures apply, even for those with siblings in school.

How many hours can my child attend Nursery at Stainton CE Primary?

Every child aged 3 years is entitled to 15 hours of free Nursery education a week for 38 weeks of the year from the term after they turn 3. 

At Stainton School, we currently offer 15 hours by way of 5 morning sessions per week – 9.00 am to 12.00 noon.

Do they have to attend all sessions?

We offer a minimum of 9 hours and maximum of 15 hours free Nursery education a week. We do encourage the children to attend for the full 15 hours.

Can I pay for additional sessions at Nursery?

We do not currently offer additional sessions above the 15 hours free entitlement.

Are you open during school holidays?

As we are attached to the main primary school, we do not open during school holidays.
