History and Geography at Stainton School often forms the foundation of termly 'topics'. The breadth of teaching and learning opportunities that stem from History and Geography often inspire our English, Art and Design and Technology lessons.
Being situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park enables fantastic opportunities for learning in Geography from maps to mountains and rivers. A recent visit to Glasgow was a fantastic opportunity for an urban study. We are also very lucky to have a lot of history at our fingertips. Visits to Castlerigg Stone Circle, Carlisle Castle and Hadrians wall allow children to visit the places where history has happened.
