History and Geography

History and Geography at Stainton School often forms the foundation of termly 'topics'. The breadth of possibilities and opportunities for learning reaches further than the two 'labels' of History and Geography. Teaching and learning in

English, Science, Art and Design and Technology are often inspired and stem from the History and Geography topics.

We have recently merged the long term plan and coverage of topics from single year groups to mixed year groups: KS1, Lower KS2 and Upper KS2 respectively, over a 2 year rolling programme. This has allowed for children and teachers to work collaboratively across year groups as well as shared educational visits.

The timetable below shows a rolling 2 year programme for all year groups.

The links to History and Geography will give more detail to how our topics link to the National Curriculum.
