Vision and Values Day 2023

On the first Thursday in September, all the children of Stainton school participated in a vision and values day led by Rev Tim for peaceful prayer activities, and Ruth for a talk about our ten values and narrowing it down to six. Talking about our motto of ‘love one another as I have loved you,’ we did exercises on what forgiveness really means and how to really follow the motto, we thought about how Jesus loved others even when other people didn’t listen. As we thought about the motto, we realised that we can’t love and express our love like Jesus did, but we can at least try our hardest in little things every day. Having to narrow down all our values to six was not an easy task considering all the different opinions. The six values where decided by a vote by all of the children in the school, ranging from year 1 to year 6. In the end we decided our values would be: love, faith, responsibility, honesty, forgiveness, and respect. Doing the prayer activities relaxed our minds and opened them to new opportunities in ways to forgive and help.
